Well five days in and we have been given our phones for the night as a  
means of praise for good marching this afternoon!

All is going well on the whole apart from the huge amount of ironing  
and polishing that i have done the last few days plus living on 3.5  
hours sleep is pretty tough!

Every morning starts at 5.15 and we all parade out side inthe coridoor  
qnd we have to down a litre of water on the spot, once every one has  
fi ished then we all have to song the british national anthem! Which  
must be a comical sightto see 35 grown men in their undercrackers very  
bleary eyed singing God save the Queen! The rest of the days have been  
a huge mix of admin, lots and lots of drill and lessons, most of which  
have started very basic - yet there are still a fairly sizeable chubk  
of our guys not getting it!

My platoon of 35 guys is pretty good. Seem to be a good bunch of guys  
with very varied backgrounds and one from kenya and one from uae. Im  
not sure they have seen the funny side of a 5am to sing the british  
national anthem. Although we have been told we will be singing thiers  
shortly! Our platoon sergent also seems to be one of the better ones  
and is a tad more relaxed and enjoys the banter and jokes that comes  
with 35 sleep deprived guys!
